OECD recommend innovation as the path to growth

The recent OECD Innovation Strategy, of May 2010, recommend that innovation will be the path back to growth for companies and countries. Innovation in the OECD definition is more than new products; also business models, logistics etc. are encompassed. Their recommendation is backed up by solid evidence, that companies that focus on innovation gets rewarded.

That is good news and will hopefully be received positively by management in the european companies, that since the crisis started have been focused squarely on cut-backs and SWIT (Sell What Is There).

A couple of other interesting findings from the OECD report: that the highest growth and job-creation is generated by new companies, l.t. 5 years old; and that IP (intellectual property) management is crucial for harvesting the value of the innovation. The combination of innovation and IP that we have as a core competency thus fits in well with the OECD findings.

So, for this company, TM-Innovation, that focus on facilitating innovation and value creation, and my personal involvement in mentoring Entrepreneurs I certainly appreciate the moral support from OECD.
